Hamlet :the BOOTLEG SIDE B DVD REMIX

Discussing how to present hamlet, the form:. we somehow all moved on to the idea of a press conferernce about the making of Hamlet, interviews. then landed with the concept the DVD. Side B. The actors talking about their experience making the film. It has been suggested that a well known professional interview person. A real MC>>>>>???? eg. ann marie auster... or a famous mc diva. do this live during the performance. focusing on after the show but of course the actors/performers can slip with time and show a segment of it, in verbal time jumps. Inviting or showing video of another contemporary director commenting on the piece. The audience catches the glimpse of the show, they have actually missed Hamlet but are seeing the B-side DVD.
B-side RESEARCH:
The B-side is filled with never-before-released rarities and documentaries. The section includes a short made with "Hamlet" entitled How They Got There, a rumination on how one discarded shoe ends up in the gutter. There's also a behind-the-scenes look at the making of an Ophelis music video the rest of the group ultimately rejected, a punk rock video at a local ex-squat and Hoatio's audition tape for Gertrude of him dancing to "Saturday night fever."(or something like that).

This is a great and thorough collection of a strange and talented Hamlet family. A body of work before Hamlet left the stage to direct movies or.... *****. It offers an original take on an art form that managed to get stale in the 2000 odd years it's been around.

DVD b side examples we need to watch::+++Shakespeare in love, eyes wide shut [surprise] Romeo and Juliet [baz lurman]

also discussed briefly what do we like about our particular characters eg.
hamlet hoatio- + what do I like about Ophelia
